October is supposed to be the month of surprises in US electoral politics. This year November has been added to the list of surprise months. The surprise: how close the presidential election turned out to be -- votes were cast on Tuesday but it wasn't until Saturday that a likely winner was called -- Joe Biden. And that call was not yet definitive: Trump and the Republicans may choose to sue the results in many states.
Yes, indeed, 2020 has been a year full of big surprises.
