16 -- Correcting the Prison

May awakens and goes out. Time to deal with something closer to home: the TNT Boys at the Prison. She travels there and goes in without causing disruption. She goes through to the headquarters office where she meets Jackson, the current leader. He gives her a mission nearby which she accomplishes easily with just talk. His second mission for her is just a little further and also accomplished with just talk. Now comes the tough one.

Jackson says to May, "There are rumors that the NDA is getting ready to attack this place and take it back. I want you to go to Milard and see what you can find out."

May travels to Milard and talks with Alex Rambler, the shop keeper and her trading partner there. She sells him some loot and he tells her to talk with Lt. Jones in the NDA camp just down the road.

Jones confirms that an attack is imminent and says May can join it when she asks to. He tells her to meet up with Sgt. Mayfield. who is waiting just outside the Prison. She will... but there another TNT Boy mission she wants to undertake first.

17 -- Correcting Redwell

May sleeps. Then, instead of heading back to the Prison, she goes to Redwell. She refreshes, then explores the abandoned gas station at the north edge of town.

There she discovers Bingo, a man who has pissed off the TNT Boys enough that they are now going to attack Redwell. May travels through town mustering support to defend against the attack. After plenty of people are talked to, she talks to Bingo once more and the attack begins.

With May's help the townspeople defend successfully. May loots and discovers something she is really, really happy to find: a Hide Boy. This will make an important upcoming mission much easier.

This mission accomplished she now heads to the Prison to meet up with Sgt. Mayfield.

18 -- Finishing Corrections

May meets up with Sgt. Mayfield as he waits outside the Prison. When she arrives the NDA attack begins. It is a big one with dozens of soldiers attacking from many different directions.

May heads for the main entrance. She fires a few shots on the way to the door and immediately heads in. As soon as she gets inside there is plenty to shoot at -- there are three convicts shooting at her. She dispatches them and continues heading for the headquarters office, where Jackson is likely to be. Getting rid of Jackson will complete the mission but not end all the shooting. That will end when all the convicts are dead.

Success! Soon Jackson and all the convicts are dead. May loots as she heads out -- with all the bodies lying about there is a lot to collect. She heads to Hudson's to sell and Redwell to refresh and then home to sleep. It has been a day full of accomplishments.

19 -- Discovering Sagebrush Rise

May wakes and heads out. Her next mission will also be close to home but of an entirely different sort. Sagebrush Rise is not home to anyone that choses to be recognized by others. What May had discovered in various places was corpses of people from the Friends of Ferric. These had loot, a description of a bunker entrance in Sagebrush Rise and a password. She would now explore that bunker entrance.

She travels to the rise, finds the bunker entrance and goes in. The place looks long abandoned but she finds an intercom and speaks the password into that.

A bunch of Friends paladins come out, order her to strip near naked, and then let her talk with Paladin Mishka, their squad leader. He lets her talk with Elder O'Hara, the base commander.

Elder O'Hara gives her a mission to deal with an NDA trooper who is making a habit of snooping in the area. The Friends doesn't want their presence known so having May, a stranger, do it will be much less risky. May deals with him, and manages to do it with talk not a blaster shot. This will keep NDA suspicions way down. Elder O'Hara is quite happy with that.

The next mission he gives her is to meet up with three scouts who have been out of touch for a while. She does. The journey is a long one, but not particularly hazardous. She brings back the reports and Elder O'Hara tells her to report to Master Sergent O'Reilly in Repair to get her third mission.

This one is a lot more important than the first two. The bunker air system is failing and vital repair parts are needed. O'Reilly tells her where she can find them. This is also a much tougher mission than the previous two -- there is lots of shooting involved. The good news is she had already acquired the toughest one to get when she had delivered drugs to Lefty Azan.

Three missions complete. She is now a friend of the Friends. But a friend isn't what she wants to be. She has a different relation as her goal. There is a bunker-destruct switch that can be activated if she was both clever and has top-of-line Science skill. She sneaks to the switch, makes her Science skill temporarily top-of-the-line by reading a Programmer's Digest, and gives it a try...

Success! The bunker self-destructs after she races out. With the Friends bunker now destroyed, it is time to head to the big town and take up missions in the city itself.
