Who is winning, plants or animals?

Who is winning on Earth, plants or animals?

One way of keeping score is to look at the ratio of O2 to CO2 in Earth's atmosphere. O2 is the exhalent of plants and CO2 is the exhalent of animals. By that measure plants are winning hands down and have been for a long, long time.

And for this reason it would seem that climate change worriers are being over-concerned. As long as there is equilibrium between O2 and CO2, and plants are keeping the CO2 ratio low, there isn't going to be much climate change beyond the normal changes we experience -- we have had many Ice Ages and Interim Periods between them for at least tens of millions of years now.
