This is my dabbling in the vampire genre.
The center of this story is making vampires logical, as in, having them act old and wise because they are long-lived creatures. It is also taking on the challenge of having them blend in, in spite of their peculiar nutrition needs and their magic.
On thought comes to mind: they are currently living in the Mediterranian and being the people that ship migrants across. This is a place where losing people routinely doesn't look out of place.
