What Roger sees coming

Neat inventions and abuses

by Roger Bourke White Jr., copyright June 2014

Introduction

What follows are some practical and surprise uses and abuses of Post-Snap technology.

Smart phone pictures and fashion

People will have smart phones and they will be able to take pictures with them. One new feature will be taking a picture of a person and having the phone/cyber network ID the person and their clothes.

o The commodity neat feature will be having the phone tell the user what the clothes are so they can buy some themselves.

o The surprise feature will be allowing the picture taker to reclothe the person in the picture with different styles and change their orientation to model these new clothes.

o The abuse will be to clothe them in kinky styles and change the position of the body itself into kinky poses.

The next issue then becomes how widely these images can be distributed -- the privacy issue.

Replacing race horse jockeys with lightweight cyber

Horse racing is both very competitive and very traditional. One of the things that makes a big difference to horse-racing performance is the weight of the jockey the horse is carrying on its back. Jockeys are small people to lighten that weight. It's hard to get people lighter than small jockeys, but not so hard to get machines that would be lighter... Hmm.

Putting a machine on the horse's back in place of a person will run into a lot of resistance because it's not natural. But, even more than people, horses get altered to improve their performance. Example: drugging horses is easier to condone than drugging people. So there will be constant temptation. As a result the first uses of cyber jockeys will be "sneaky" ones in various fashions. The most outrageous will be when a jockey-looking avatar is switched for the for real jockey just before and just after the race. This will make big news when it first happens.

Driver cars abusing driverless cars

Those who keep driving the old fashioned way can take advantage of the driverless cars keeping out of their way. They can weave and swerve and the driverless cars will dodge them. Other drivered cars, on the other hand...

The Cowbird

A cyber/android that is abusive and pathological gets raised by a human family because it is so good at stroking their emotions. In their heads they know it will cause damage when it grows up, but they raise it anyway because it makes their hearts feel so good.
